For all Puerto Rico trips we recommend packing light and airy clothes - items that are good for hiking and volunteering in heat + humidity.
Long pants (below the knee) are recommended for volunteer days.
Close toed athletic shoes that you don't mind getting dirty - you'll need them for volunteering, for hiking, and they might even get wet on the way to a waterfall!
Water shoes are a GREAT option during water-based excursions
Reusable water bottle
Small backpack to carry personal items on hikes/excursions
Any necessary toiletries
NOTE: most of our volunteers get by with only a carry-on; you WILL have access to a washer/dryer

During the first day of the trip we will stop at a local grocery store so you can shop for any breakfast foods, snacks, or other necessities that you feel you'll need during the trip. reviews from previous volunteers
"This volunteer trip made for the best vacation. I hate planning trips but love going on them - this takes care of all the details so you can just show up and have an amazing time. I went to PR with Moyo Village in 2021 & 2022- a full island trip and the OG trip. We spent equal parts exploring/dining and volunteering with different animal rescues. I left feeling like I made a difference with my time off while also being recharged and rejuvenated.
Highlights: seeing sea turtles; flying a rescue to its adoptive family; new friendships; hiking el yunque; parcha"
